Clarke Carlisle has just written his highly acclaimed autobiography “You Don’t Know Me, But... A Footballer’s Life.”
The former PFA Chairman, Carlisle has recently retired from the game after 16 years as a professional. His final game was at Wembley when he was in the Northampton side beaten in a Play-Off Final. An England under-21 international, Carlisle played for nine clubs, including a spell at Burnley, with whom he enjoyed promotion and Premier League status.
Carlisle is known to a wider audience for his appearances on Countdown and BBC’s Question Time and his searingly honest BBC documentaries on the fight against racism in football and the personal battles he has fought against alcohol abuse and depression.
